Alfa Romeo and sailing. Determination to win mated to technological innovation.
In 2007 the Alfa logo stayed aboard throughout the sailing season: when it was not racing with the Alfa Romeo Maxi Yacht it was official supplier to Luna Rossa. At the 39th Barcolana, the Alfa Romeo maxi yacht claimed its fourth win (2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007), ending the season with 117 Line Honours and gaining for itself the title of defender for the speed record at sea in the maxi class.
Other sailing events where the brand played the star role included the Italian circuit for Melges 24 and Laser SB3 class yachts, with two important second places, and the agreement entered into with the Caprera Sailing Centre, the most important nautical school in Italy. Bearing witness to Alfa Romeos genuine sporty spirit.
The agreement contemplates many joint initiatives with Alfa Romeo as the official car of the Centre.
In October, the Alfa Romeo Maxi Yacht took yet another first place raising the Line Honours conquered to a grand total of 117.
The Melges 24 ‘Alfa Spider’ and Laser SB3 ‘Alfa 147’ took second place in their respective classes.
